"Clean Energy Policy and Innovation in Kazakhstan" Workshop

Description

The workshop was held on the 30th of November in Almaty. This workshop aimed to gather experts and professionals from Universities to discuss current issues related to energy and climate change topics and find possible solutions. The event program included SDSN Kazakhstan Secretariat and seven Universities as Kazakh-British Technical University, Almaty Management University, Kazakh National Agrarian University, Suleyman Demirel University, Narxoz University, Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

There were more than 25 workshop participants and each University was represented by up to five delegates, including one presenter.
The event started with a presentation about SDSN Kazakhstan. It was followed by eight presentations that considered such sustainable development topics as circular economy, air pollution, large Earth data systems, clean energy technologies, green economy, and greenhouse effects. The workshop was also considered as a platform for networking and building local cooperation among SDSN Kazakhstan members in Almaty.
