Professional Biography

 Adil Ashirbekov is a junior researcher at the Research Institute of Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education. He has been part of the international research team on the Project “Advancing Models of Best Practice in Internationalization of Higher Education in Kazakhstan”. Adil examines current issues of internationalization of higher education institutions. He explores context-specific ways and approaches to the development patterns of institutional internationalization. Before joining the Graduate School of Education, Adil did his master’s degree in international relations and also worked at the international office of Gumilyov Eurasian National University University. He has played active part in developing institutional applications for the European Union’s TEMPUS and ERASMUS MUNDUS initiatives. Having relevant international-office experience, Adil provided professional support and advised both students and faculty members on initiatives related to academic mobility, academic and research grant applications. Based on his professional experience and academic background, Adil has co-authored articles focused on issues of internationalization of higher education.
