Research interests
Dr. Dayashankar Maurya, is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy, Nazarbayev University. He is a public policy, public management, and health policy researcher with training in Medicine, Healthcare Management, and Public Policy.
His scholarship is primarily aimed at understanding how public and private sector can work together to address societal challenges. His research is primarily concerned with public management reforms, policy design and implementation, Inter-organisational relationships such as partnerships, networks and collaboration. His domain interests are in health sector especially in health financing, social health insurance and health system reforms. He has published papers in journals such as Public Management Review, Social Policy & Administration, Public Performance Management Review, Policy Design and Practice and others. He has received awards such as Best Paper Prize Journal of Asian Public Policy 2020/21; Best Paper Award at IIMA Doctoral Colloquium; and Harwin Award for Academic Excellence, National University of Singapore.
Before joining GSPP, he worked at Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), India; International University of Japan, Japan and T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal, India. He is the trustee for ARMMAN, a public health non-profit organization in India.
