Dr. Vitaliy Sazonov graduated from Karaganda State Medical Academy in 2004. Following the completion of his graduate education, he completed an internship at Karaganda Regional Children's Clinical Hospital.

From 2005 to 2008, he worked as an intensive care physician and anesthesiologist in the Pediatric Anesthesiology and Critical Care Unit at a children's hospital. In 2008 he joined the National Research Center for Maternal and Child Health in the Pediatric Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Unit.

Since October 2014, Dr. Sazonov has been a faculty member at Nazarbayev University School of Medicine (NUSOM), where he has made significant contributions to medical education. He has been instrumental in developing course content for the MD, Nursing, and other medical programs, covering basic sciences, clinical coursework, and practical training.

Dr. Sazonov played a key role in developing the Residency Program in Anesthesiology and Critical Care at NUSOM and currently serves as its Program Director.

Additionally, he serves as the Course Lead for multiple courses, including: Basic Physical Examination, Clinical Experiences, Clinical Procedures, Anesthesiology Clerkship

In recognition of his contributions to healthcare, Dr. Sazonov was awarded the "Medal for Contribution to Healthcare" by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2014. He is also an active member of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC).
