Dr. Yanwei Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, School of Engineering and Digital Sciences, Nazarbayev University. He also serves as Acting Director of the Center for Energy and Advanced Materials Science (CEAMS) at the National Laboratory Astana (NLA) and Head of the Center of Digital Modelling and AI in Energy at the Institute of New Materials and Energy Technologies (INMET).
Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and has research experience in both academia and industry. He is a Senior Member of RILEM, a member of the IUPAC Subcommittee on Structure and Properties of Commercial Polymers, and a member of the Society of Rheology.
His research interests include multiscale modeling, complex fluids, energy materials, chemical engineering transport phenomena, computational physics, and AI-enabled scientific modeling, with an emphasis on physics-based and data-based approaches spanning multiple scales from molecular to continuum.
