Professional Information

Dr. Yerbol Sarbassov is an Assistant Professor at the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department of the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences (SEDS) at Nazarbayev University. He graduated with an engineering degree at Almaty Institute of Power and Telecommunications in 2001-2006 and subsequently worked in energy industry for 3 years. In 2009-2010, he received MSc degree on Energy Conversion at the University of Nottingham (UK); Between 2013-2017, Yerbol persuaded a PhD program at the School of Engineering of Cranfield University (UK); After completing his PhD, he worked as research scientist at PI “National Laboratory Astana” NU and served as active head of Green Energy and Climate Laboratory in 2017. Yerbol, has published over 25 journal articles and a similar number of conference proceedings and regularly acts as reviewer for several international journals such as Fuel Processing Technology, Journal of Cleaner Production and International journal of Energy Research.

Starting from 2021, he became a Member of National Scientific Council of Ministry of Education & Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the research direction: Rational use of water resources, flora and fauna, environment”
