Professional Information

Dr. Yerbol Sarbassov is a postdoctoral scholar at the Chemical & Materials Engineering Department of the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences at Nazarbayev University from 2018. He graduated with an engineering degree at Almaty Institute of Power and Telecommunications in 2001-2006 and subsequently worked in energy industry for 3 years. In 2009-2010, he has received MSc degree on Energy Conversion at the University of Nottingham (UK); Between 2013-2017, he obtained a PhD at the School of Engineering of Cranfield University (UK); After completing his PhD, he worked as research scientist at PI “National Laboratory Astana” NU and served as active head of Green Energy and Climate Laboratory in 2017. Yerbol, has published over 20 journal articles and a similar number of conference proceedings and regularly acts as reviewer for several international journals such as Fuel Processing Technology, Journal of Cleaner Production and International journal of Energy Research.

Starting from 2021, he became a Member of National Scientific Council of Ministry of Education & Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the research direction: Rational use of water resources, flora and fauna, environment”
