Dr. Ramankulov graduated from Moscow State University in 1993 majoring in Molecular Biology and earned his Ph.D. at Texas A&M University in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. Subsequently he worked at CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), Fort Collins, USA and Midweat Research Institute, Frederick, USA. In 2005 he assumed a position of Director of the National Center for Biotechnology, Astana, Kazakhstan.

Dr. Ramankulov is an expert in molecular genetics of bacteria and viruses.
