Zhazira Agabekova holds a Candidate of philological sciences degree in Turkic languages from A. Baytursynuly Institute of Linguistics at NAS RK.
Zhazira worked as a teacher, senior teacher, lecturer, deputy dean, head of the chair at the A.Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University. Before joining Nazarbayev University Zhazira Agabekova worked as Associate Professor at the Chair of Oriental Studies at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. She has about 50 scientific articles published in foreign and national press institutions and training-methodical manuals.
Her research interests include issues in the ethnolinguistics, onomastics, cultural studies, cognitive linguistics, Kazakh and Turkic linguistic terms.

The Social Policy grant of SHSS Nazarbayev University for 2015- 2016, the theme of the project: “Lingua-cultural methodology of teaching Kazakh language”

Winner of President Nursultan Nazarbayev international educational grant “Bolashak” (scientific practice, Turkey, 2011);

The owner of the educational grant ISESCO on practical course of Arabic language (2004);

Grant holder of the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with the CIS countries at the Foreign Ministry of Egypt (2003).
