Research interests
Dr. Zumrad Kataeva is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Education and holds a Ph.D. degree in Studies in Higher Education from the University of Kentucky, USA. Prior to her current appointment, she worked at the Institute of Education of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia, where she was a part of the international project on 25 Years of Transformations of Higher Education in Post - Soviet Countries. Dr. Kataeva is an alumnus of the Doctoral Fellowship Program of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) and served as an educational researcher for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), UNICEF, and the World Bank. Dr. Kataeva is fascinated with learning how higher education systems of former Soviet countries respond to Post-Soviet transformations and globalization and how policies, reforms, and challenges of higher education affect the professional lives of faculty members. One of her important research areas is the relationship between gender equality and education and gender mainstreaming in higher education.
