The project goal is to develop a novel concept of integrating wearable energy harvesting (nanogenerators) and energy storing devices (flexible battery) into a self-sustainable power system. TENG will be used as a source that converts mechanical energy through contact electrification into electrical. That will allow building a power system, where the rechargeable battery will not need frequent external charging source, which hinders the application of wearable electronics.
The work is dedicated to develop the self-charging power unit with hybridization of TENG textile and LIB for wearable electronics, smart uniforms. The more detailed investigations, both experimental and computational, will progress this scarcely studied area to the further level of development.
1) We have developed a new composite electrode for triboelectric nanogenerators;
2) The electrical output parameters of the developed triboelectric nanogenerators have been investigated, and a favorable dependence of the modification of triboelectric materials and performance has been established;
3) A preliminary sample of flexible cathode and anode for lithium-ion batteries was obtained to connect with triboelectric nanogenerator."
