Extremophiles from Eurasia as a potential source for novel antimicrobial agents, sub-project: Screening and identification of antimicrobials

Project: International

Project Details

Grant Program

Project funded by Technical University of Hamburg

Project Description

The originality of the project lies in the discovery of extremophiles as a largely unexplored source of antibiotics. The project's Armenian and German partners have unique strain collections that have not previously been studied as a source of hypothetical antimicrobial agents. The Kazakh partner forms the interface of the project, since the well-founded experience of the Kazakh scientists in the field of antibiotic screening is essential for the success of the project.
