Grant funding 2023-2025

Project Description

Our purpose is to identify which economic and institutional factors appeal to foreign investors, how they influence the type of investments made and whether FDI inflows enhance or impair the productivity and sustainable development of Kazakhstani firms, sectors, and regions.

Project Relevance

The project addresses three main challenges that Kazakhstan faces today. The first challenge is industrial diversification, a long-standing state priority. Kazakhstan is rich in natural resources, and the export of energy and mining products has been the main driver of the country’s economic growth. The second challenge is to remain an attractive destination for investment. Last but not least, a green economy transition is a national priority.
