Project Description

In Kazakhstan, 30.4 thousand of new cancer cases were in 2020, and it is expected to grow up to 54.1 thousand cases in 2040. As for the mortality, 21 thousand cancer patients died in Kazakhstan in 2020, and by 2040, this number can escalate up to 33.2 thousand. To appropriately allocate resources to prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care and to monitor their effectiveness, it is necessary to have information about cancer burden and its epidemiology on a country level.
The aim of the study is to investigate the in-depth epidemiology (prevalence, incidence, mortality, disability weight), to provide the visual map dashboard of cancer burden by regions, and to define the 10-year trend for solid cancers in Kazakhstan using big data analytics, forecasting models and machine learning tools.
