Project Description

The main purpose of the project is construction of the models for dynamics and proliferation of the tumor including the diverse growth functions. Solution to the models is to be found analytically and numerically

Project Relevance

A brain tumour is considered as an oncology disease with the most severe health consequences.
Although mortality from such intracranial tumours accounts for 1.8% of all cancers, diagnosis of brain neoplasms is very difficult that makes it almost impossible for detection on an early stage. The National Health System of Kazakhstan also fights against many types of malignant neoplasms including brain cancer of course. According to the report of IARC on situation in Kazakhstan for, about 34 000 new cancer cases and more than 20 000 deaths are registered annually. Thus, studying this type of disease is very important and necessary in all scales and together with diverse science areas applied.

Project Impact

The mathematical models in terms of FKPP-type equations are considered for the one-dimensional case with general reaction function and two-dimensional case with different growth functions. Thus we studied the models with Gompertz, Bernoulli and von Bertalanffy growth functions. The solutions are found in analytyc and numerical forms.
