Project Description

This project intends to study the efficiency of several commercial filter cake breakers in removing synthetic-based-mud drill-in-fluids (SBMDIF) filter cake. This study had a significant importance for all well that was designed to be completed in open hole with standalone screen or pre-slotted liner as the sand control mechanism. Unfortunately, limited literature findings had demonstrated the effectiveness of filter cake breaker in removing the SBMDIF filter cake and thoroughly explained the mechanism of filter cake breaker. The finding from this experimental study could be a useful knowledge in formulating the filter cake breaker using nano-particles to be used in Synthetic Based Mud Drill-In Fluid (SBMDIF) System.
