Project Description

This project is aimed to expand research on construction 3D printing with geopolymers started at Nazarbayev University in 2021. It aims to fabricate building elements, concrete products, and pre-developed building blocks with geopolymer concrete produced from industrial byproducts in Kazakhstan. The research team has conducted thorough research on the possible use of raw kaolin clay from the Kokshetau region, it was discovered that this clay can be used for Limestone calcined clay cement (LC3) production, one of the most promising solutions for the reduction of CO2 emission because it can be implemented for large scale applications. The development of the proposed project will enable us to conduct further research on 3D printing with smart/green materials for construction 3D printing, which is one of the latest innovative technologies in additive manufacturing.
