Project Description

In the analytical mechanics and theoretical dynamics fields, there is a lack of understanding of how to select the best set of generalized coordinates to describe the system dynamics. Different criteria can be used to assess the best set, but one possible criterion is the simulation error and time. In this project, we want to investigate whether there is the best set of generalized coordinates for a given dynamic system, how to select the best set, and whether there is an algorithm that allows us to obtain the best set apriori. The project aims to develop the procedure to obtain the best set of generalized coordinates for a given dynamic system. Another aim is to develop a tool for engineers and scientists for an efficient description of the system dynamics.
