Abstract
In the monograph, the history of the writing of geographical objects in Kazakhstan, the problems of their international romanization are studied. Writing common toponyms is directly related to the alphabet used in Kazakhstan. Therefore, the connection between the history of writing and place names is considered. During the process of transitioning to Latin and Cyrillic letters in Kazakhstan, research was conducted on what documents were used to write geographic objects and how they were used. The monograph also includes research on the mistakes and difficulties in writing toponyms of Kazakhstan today.
