Abstract
This article discusses the development of reading skills, as an important element of human speech activity with the possibility of improving cognitive and communication skills. Reading becomes the object of analysis at the junction of the physiological and cumulative characteristics of each member of society. Attention is focused on processes and tasks before, during and after reading, combining the need for an applied approach that includes elements of critical thinking, a case study method and a comprehensive rethinking.
