Abstract

A ternary chalcogenide crystal, LiInSe2, was studied for nonlinear applications in mid-infrared. The synthesis of single crystals of LiInSe2 was described and results of its structural analysis and measurements of its transmission, band edge and index of refraction were presented. The plots of absorption coefficients for the single crystal were also presented.
