Abstract
As in most European educational systems, the Galician Educational Administrative Department is giving increasing importance to the learning of foreign or additional languages on the grounds that there is a need to develop citizens’ plurilingual and intercultural competences within the globalisation process taking place in our present-day world. Galicia, Catalonia and the Basque Country share not only bilingualism, but also the experience in immersion bilingual programmes involving local languages. This experience has laid good foundations for the development of a semi-immersion educational policy related to foreign languages, which is bringing about the revitalisation of FL learning. Considering this context, this communication addresses the analysis of the development and state of the art regarding CLIL provision as well as of all courses of action related to CLIL implementation and assessment procedures.
