Abstract

The authors report a compact high performance polarisation-independent InP reflective arrayed waveguide multi-wavelength filter. With a die size of 1.2mm × 2.4 mm, the 8 × 1.6nm channel filter operated in the 1.5μm fibre band with -20dB crosstalk, 4.9dB of on-chip loss, and no measurable polarisation sensitivity.
