Abstract

Data management research conducted in the department of Computer Engineering at the Middle East Technical University is discussed. The major research funding sources include the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, the European Commission, and the internal research funds of METU. The research on workflow management systems has concentrated on modeling and scheduling under resource allocation systems. Research on object-oriented databases is primarily based on extensibility and dynamic schema evolution.
