Abstract
In this research work, we consider edge computing technology for task offloading from Internet of Things (IoT) device with the latency reduction aim. We study the usage of capacity achieving schemes such as space-division-multiple access (SDMA) when directional antennas are utilized non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). The network of multiple mobile edge computing (MEC) nodes operates under Rayleigh and Nakagami-m fading channels. We evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes by the delay-outage probability criteria. In the analytical part, we first find the total time of task offloading. Then, a closed form expression for the delay-outage probability of capacity achieving schemes is introduced. In the simulation part, the impact of various parameters on system performance is investigated. In addition, the proposed scheme is compared with TDMA approach by the reliability metric and relevant conclusions are made.
