Abstract

This study aims to address the challenge of reliable and stable connectivity in the IoT by proposing an eight-port multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) antenna that covers a broad range of 15 GHz in the Ku band, 24 GHz in the industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band, and the millimeter-wave bands at 30 GHz, 33 GHz, and 37 GHz. The antenna provides varied patterns and achieves an acceptable level of inter-element isolation. The envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) values are low, and the directivity gain (DG) is more than 9.96 dB in the resonant frequency bands. The proposed MIMO antenna is ideal for IoT applications owing to its multiple frequency bands and its low profile, which provides pattern diversity.
