N2 - Structural, adsorption, mechanical and other properties of diamond-like carbon (DLC) films, ultradisperse diamonds and porous diamond compacts were studied in comparison with Ti, TiO X, TiN X, TiC, Zr, ZrO X, ZrN X, ZrC, SiO2, graphite-like carbon film and graphitised carbon black. Control of the properties of DLC materials by doping or surface modification, high mechanical characteristics and tribological behaviour, chemical passivity, biocompatibility and nontoxicity allow the use of these materials in industry and medicine.
