Finite element approximation of the first eigenpair of a nonlinear problem

Abstract

A finite element method is used for the computation of the first eigenpair of the problem –div(|∇u|p-2∇u)=λ|u|p-2u in Ω, u = 0 on ∂Ω. Error estimates are obtained. Convergence is proved with minimal regularity assumption.
