Abstract
We examine the stability of the steady states of a single-mode diode laser subject to optical monochromatic injection. The stability boundaries are determined in terms of the injection amplitude and the frequency detuning between the injected signal and the solitary diode laser. In addition to the two known Hopf bifurcations appearing at low and high injection rates, respectively, we show that there exists a third Hopf bifurcation which can be observed if the pump parameter above threshold is sufficiently small.
