Abstract
The magnetic properties of polymers with azoporphyrin macrocycles in the conjugate chain were investigated. The compounds were synthesized by polycyclotetramerization of tetranitrilopyrromellitic acid in a benzene solution or a monomer melt. The EPR spectra were recorded at magnetic field strengths from 0 to 6000 Oe. For a number of samples, in addition to the usual free-radical signals, a phenomenon of magnetic hysteresis for the UHF absorption at low fields (0-1000 Oe) was observed. It was concluded that the hysteresis-type UHF absorption and magnetic memory effects are probably explained by collective magnetic interactions in the oligo-and polyphthalocyanides.
