Matrices and necklaces of solitons in nonlocal nonlinear media

Abstract

We introduce novel classes of higher-order spatial optical solitons, analogous to Laguerre- Gaussian (LG) and Hermite-Gaussian (HG) linear eigenmodes, and demonstrate numerically that modulational instability can lead to nontrivial transformations between solitons of different symmetries.
