Abstract

A calculation method, based on the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations, to represent the velocity and pressure characteristics of the flow around the trailing edge of airfoils at high angle of incidence was developed. The calculation method is based on the finite-difference procedure of Gosman and Pun. Since the calculated results are approximate, measurements of the flow around and downstream of a trailing flap have been obtained and are compared with the calculation.
