Mid-infrared (2.75-6.0 μm) second-harmonic generation in LiInS2

Abstract

The second harmonic generation (SHG) measurements on two different LiInS2 crystals was presented. The picosecond pulses from the free electron laser (FEL) for infrared experiments (FELIX)3 were used as the pump in the wavelength range from 2.75-6.0μmeter. The second harmonic pulse energy was also measured as a function of fundamental beam pulse energy. The damage threshold of the crystals at a wavelength of 5.0 μmeter (500 femtoseconds) was measured to be 1.1 J/cm2.
