Abstract

Nanoclays play an important role in several industries. Their physical properties, high surface area, and availability are important for extending their applications. This chapter presents a detailed investigation of natural nanoclays. Various structures, components, sources, and minerals were examined. In addition, different applications of natural nanoclays were defined, and the classification of nanoclays was represented. Several methods for the functionalization and modification of nanoclays have been investigated, and the efficiency of each method was evaluated based on the results obtained in previous studies. The reader is expected to gain a better insight into natural nanoclays, their structure, and their applications after reading this chapter.
