Abstract
Early childhood education and care (ECEC) has become one of the priorities of teacher education reforms in Kazakhstan. With this chapter we present a systematic review of the developments in its policies and practices. The review provide an account of its historical evolution since the Soviet education till to date. We then draw on some lesson from the review in order to make recommendations for the model of ECEC in Kazakhstan.
