Nonlinear resonances in optically injected semiconductor lasers

Abstract

The nonlinear resonance in an optically injected semiconductor laser was investigated analytically, numerically and experimentally in the phase drift region. The numerical analysis was based on the single mode rate equations, while the analytical work was based on a third order differential equation for the phase of the electric field derived from the rate equations. Nonlinear resonances leading to subharmonic bifurcations and time periodic isolas were found experimentally.
