Nysanbay Zhyrau is a representative of the Kazakh oral literary tradition of the 19th century. The poet’s creative heritage is permeated with the liberating idea of restoring national statehood. The historical poem Nysambai Zhyrau "Kenisary-Nauryzbay" is a valuable source of the history of the liberation struggle of the Kazakh people.
