Parking gate control based on mobile application

Abstract

Automatic parking barrier is one of the recently developed technologies operating at the parking facilities and entrances to the restricted areas. This research aims to implement the prototype of an automatic barrier system controlled by a mobile application. During the winter, sometimes temperature goes below -30 °C in Kazakhstan and the security guard needs to come out and check whether the vehicle has permission to enter to the restricted area especially place like a university residential premises. Even if the vehicle owner has the card with RFID, still the driver should touch it to the card reader which is located outside. Thus; opening the car window is necessary and inconvenient at a temperature below -30 °C. The user of the application needs to have the particular mobile app that is connected to the Bluetooth model integrated into the barrier system to solve the problem. Upon connecting to the network, the user requires pressing the "open" button on their mobile phones to enter into the restricted area. Arduino platform is used to develop the algorithm, connect the mobile app to the system, and control the automated parking barrier from the vehicle with the mobile app.
