Abstract

By adding a small reference current modulation to the dc-bias current, the oscillation frequency of diode lasers can easily lock to the reference frequency and tunable outputs oscillating at stable frequencies can be obtained. These may be attributed to the fact that the laser relaxation oscillation frequency depends on the injection strength at high injection rates.
