N2 - A fuzzy logic controller (FLC) has been designed to predict material removal rate and surface roughness of the components machined by the electro chemical process. To establish logical relationship between antecedent and consequent variables of the process, experiments were performed using a dual pole tool and results of these experiments were used to prepare the rule base for the FLC. Initial design of FLC was fine- tuned using genetic algorithms (GA) and results from optimized FLC were compared with experimental observations. It was found that predictions from GA optimized FLC were more close to experimental results than the simple FLC.
