Abstract

This chapter presents a framework for teaching Integrated Process Design. The central educational object is the conceptual design project, which allows acquiring the principles and training the skills by applying the theory directly on challenging subjects. The teaching process is organised around an Integrated Process Design course and two projects in view of MSc graduation. The first preliminary project aims at acquiring the systems approach and systematic methods, and thus to teach the creativity. The second one (optional) is devoted to training the process engineering skills by completing an elaborated plant design. The projects can be oriented to handle both product and process design. Typical course content and project assignment are discussed, tailored to the European Credit Transfer System.
