Abstract

The electron density in the plasma produced in a CO plus N//2 plus He**3 mixture with density 0. 13 - 1. 0 amagat in a nuclear reactor with a thermal-neutron flux of 10**1** - 10**1**4 n/(cm**2 multiplied by (times) sec) ranges up to 7 multiplied by (times) 10**1**1 cm** minus **3. An atmospheric-pressure CO laser with nuclear ionization can be developed at the specific input power left bracket 800 W/(cm**3 multiplied by (times) atm) right bracket and at the specific energy left bracket 300 J/(liter multiplied by (times) atm) right bracket which have been attained for the discharge.
