Abstract

Treatment of bean seedlings with a water extract of Reynoutria sachalinensis (giant knotweed) increases visible photosynthesis and the dark respiration of plants. The increase in CO2 uptake under intense illumination (10 000 lx) correlates with an increase in the fluorescence parameter (FM - FT)/FT.
