Surviving the storm: how Russian migrant women entrepreneurs demonstrate agility in turbulent times

This chapter explores the agility of two migrant Russian women entrepreneurs who had to leave Russia due to political and economic instability. It analyzes how these women adapt to new environments and overcome the challenges of starting and growing businesses in unfamiliar contexts. Drawing on qualitative interviews, the chapter highlights the importance of agility, resilience, resourcefulness, and social networks in facilitating entrepreneurial success among migrant women. The findings offer insights into the strategies and practices that migrant women entrepreneurs employ to navigate and thrive in uncertain and rapidly changing environments. The chapter contributes to our understanding of the role of women in entrepreneurship, the challenges and opportunities of international migration, and the potential of entrepreneurship as a means of social and economic empowerment.
