Abstract

The Student Registrar System described in this article was built in-house for the Office of the Registrar of the university (Boranbayev et al. Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 800: 521–528, 2019). This paper shows the design, architecture, components and features of the developed web-based system (Boranbayev et al. Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 558: 281–288, 2017; Boranbayev et al. Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 738: 759–760, 2018; Boranbayev et al. Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 738: 33-38, 2018; Boranbayev et al. Theory, Methods Appl. 71: 1633–1637, 2009; Boranbayev et al. Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 738: 33–38, 2018; Boranbayev et al. Proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations 729–730, 2018; Boranbayev et al. Proceedings of Intelligent Systems Conference (IntelliSys) 1055–1061, 2018; Vinitha Stephie and Lakshmi, ARPN J. Eng. Appl. Sci. 12: 4769–4772, 2017; Boranbayev et al. Bulletin of L.N. Proceedings of the Future Technologies Conference, 2: 324–337, 2019). It is one of the most important information systems in the university and is part of an integrated student information system environment, which is intended to automate various areas and processes of the higher education institution (Boranbayev et al. Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 800: 521–528, 2019). The main stakeholders of the developed Registrar System are the employees of the Registrar Department, students, professors and other administrative departments of the university (Boranbayev et al. Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 800: 521–528, 2019). The system was built and enhanced with such technologies as Drupal 7, PHP 5, ExtJS 4, Oracle 11g, Nginx, Apache servers, Ubuntu, Red Hat Linux, Memcached. Based on the information from this paper, we would like to tell you about the design techniques that were applied for the development and implementation of the described web-based Registrar System (Boranbayev et al. Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 800: 521–528, 2019). Implementation of the Registrar system has made the work of system users easier as the data management process can be done with proper authorizations and authentication (Singh et al. Orient. J. Comp. Sci. Technol. 9: 66–72, 2016).
