Abstract
Heat and mass transfer in the turbulent boundary layer in the inlet zone of a tube with swirled flow was investigated. Augmentation of rates of transport processes over those in nonswirled flow was interpreted as the result of changes in the velocity vector in the boundary layer and of the effect of mass forces, induced by streamline curvature, on turbulence.
