Abstract

The use of new technologies in information systems and advanced networks has allowed the manufacturing industry to apply new, complex manufacturing systems based on advanced networks and new computing technologies. Cloud Manufacturing, as a new paradigm, is continuously gaining attention by academics and industry. However, there is still a lack of understanding of the concept of Cloud Manufacturing, its implementation and - in particular - the uncertainties coming with this new technology. This paper focuses on defining and evaluating uncertainties in Cloud Manufacturing, provides a list of identified uncertainties and proposes uncertainty management for Cloud Manufacturing.
