N2 - Exhibition organizers around the world strive to make their fairs more competitive domestically and globally. Countries with mature exhibition industries, such as Germany, USA, and the UK, have focused greater attention in recent years on the use of web-based technologies for managing fair visitors' data. Similarly, many of China's fairs are increasingly using web-based technologies, although at a slower and less systematic pace. This paper examines different ways that web-based technologies can be effectively applied to the data collection and database management of trade fair visitors' trade-related information. The paper discusses the web-based management of visitors' data pre-fair, on-site, and post-fair.
