Project Description

This project aims to develop nanostructured High-Z/AIEE hybrid materials that function simultaneously as radiation scintillators and radiosensitizers for biomedical applications. By integrating high-atomic-number (High-Z) lanthanide components with aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) luminophores, the proposed materials will efficiently convert high-energy radiation into visible light and reactive oxygen species (ROS). These processes will enable both real-time optical imaging and radiodynamic therapy under high-energy radiation. The interdisciplinary approach combines materials chemistry, radiation physics, and biomedical science to elucidate energy-transfer mechanisms and optimize performance. The outcomes will contribute to next-generation hybrid scintillators with high radiation sensitivity, controllable emission, and strong therapeutic potential for advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment.
